The Braveheart Cycling Fund's annual fundraising cycle in Kilmarnock will take place on October 31.

The fund helped Commonwealth bronze medal winner Kate Archibald go from school to world championship level in just two years.

The event at the end of October will feature a cycle ride in the morning followed by dinner at the Park Hotel.

It attracts the biggest names in cycling from across the world and as many as 800 people are expected to take part in the cycle and 400 attend the dinner.

This year Sir Chris Hoy, 2015 Tour of Britain winner Edvald Boasson Hagen, and Tour de France stage winner Steve Cummings will attend.

The ride will take cyclists throughout East Ayrshire with rolling road closures to keep the cyclists safe without inconveniencing the locals.

Leaving Kilmarnock, the route travels from to Galston, Newmilns, Sorn and Muirkirk.

This event is organised by Active Office, a Kilmarnock based office supply specialist and web agency.

Active Office works closely with the Braveheart Fund, providing the essential IT, marketing and administrative support it needs to carry out its fund raising activities, including this fantastic event.

The Braveheart Fund was launched in 2003 by former British champion, Brian Smith and his friend, Active Office Managing Director, Alan Miller.

It aims has raised half a million pounds in the last decade to allow young Scottish cyclists to fulfil their potential.
