A PINT-SIZED thug with a Mohican haircut attacked and robbed a woman of her handbag in a Glasgow street.

The 58-year-old was making her way into the city centre when the 5ft 4in tall attacker grabbed her bag and dragged her to the ground.

He made off with her purse, around £100 in cash and a mobile phone.

Police said the mugger was with another man, who is described as tall and slim, when he targeted the woman.

It happened in St Peter's Street in the St George's Cross area of the city at around 2pm yesterday.

The attacker is described as being in his 20s, around 5ft 4in tall, of stocky build with belly.

He was wearing a cream waterproof jacket.

The man he was with was also described as being in his 20s and wearing a black jacket.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed an investigation was underway and urged anyone who recognises the men's description to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
