This Saturday is World Porridge Day - and brings the chance to put the spotlight on a good cause, as well as an excuse to celebrate one of Scotland's favourite dishes.
It marks a global initiative that raises awareness about the work being done here to help children in some of the world’s poorest communities gain an education.
On Saturday, The Brooke, which is an international animal welfare charity dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules, will be promoting these efforts along with the aptly named Porridge – a 37-year old donkey who resides in Aberdeen and has been raising funds for some of his fellow animals for over 30 years.
And, they want you to join them in spreading the word about all they do and those that they do it for.
Wendy Sim, Aberdeen Brooke Champion Group member, said: “We’re so pleased to be celebrating World Porridge Day with our own real life Porridge!
"Having Porridge as part of the Aberdeen Brooke Champion Group has helped us raise over £130,000 in the past 20 years for his fellow donkeys overseas.
"We want to continue our mission to help animals all over the world and we are currently on the lookout for new members to join Porridge’s Champion Group.”
World Porridge Day is originally linked to Scottish based charity Mary's Meals, who aim to give the breakfast of choice for many Scots to children in Malawi as an incentive to attend school, and The Brooke also works to benefit families across Africa.
