TWO men were stabbed during a violent attack at a house in Moodiesburn.

The men, aged 62 and 42, were targets of "extreme violence", according to police, who are now hunting down their attacker.

One man was stabbed in the chest while another was slashed in the face during the horrifiying assault.

The incident happened on Saturday October 10, around 9.15pm, at a house on Bridgeburn Drive in Moodiesburn.

One man suffered facial injuries, while the other suffered chest injuries according to the ambulance service.

They were both taken to Monklands hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant David Lamont, Lanarkshire Division CID who is leading the investigation said: "This appears to have been a targeted attack where the person responsible has used extreme violence towards both males causing them to be hospitalised.

"I believe that the local community may have information that could help identify the person responsible and I would appeal to them to get in touch."
