He's one of football's biggest stars and he has just delighted Scottish schoolkids - with a retweet.

For Manchester City star Sergio Aguero shared an image of St Aidan's High School pupils in Wishaw at last night's Champions League match against Sevilla to his 9.22m followers.

The Argentinean striker responded to pupils after they travelled for five hours down to the Eithad Stadium in Manchester to watch the game, which City won 2-1.

The 49 kids sent an image of themselves to Aguero and other City stars Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling.

The kids were on a school trip with the PE department and tweeted some highlights from the trip:

But we suspect the best part of the trip was no doubt receiving a 'nod' from Aguero. Sean Johnston said on Twitter: "Thanks so much AGUEROOOO."

St Aidan's High added: "Thank you so much. The pupils were delighted with your retweet. God bless and speedy recovery!"

We salute you sir!
