EVENING TIMES Community Champion finalist Ahmed Owusu-Konadu is backing an annual peace conference in Glasgow.

A member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Glasgow, the event in Bearsden Burgh Hall on November 14, which includes a dinner, tackles the subject "Stop the CrISIS."

"We have organised peace conferences in Glasgow every year for more than 10 years to talk about how we can bring about peace in the society and get to know each other better, breaking the barriers between Muslims and the wider community," he said.

"Our message is 'Love For All, Hatred For None' and we will be promoting the values of love, loyalty, freedom, equality, respect and peace at the event, the core values needed for any peaceful society."

Speakers include Mansoor Shah, vice-president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, Linda Fabiani MSP, East Dunbartonshire deputy provost Anne Jarvis and the Police divisional head.

The event is open to the public but registration must be completed in advance at www.peaceconference.co.uk.
