14 more hit by bug outbreak

USA: Health officials say an additional 14 cases have been detected in a fungal meningitis outbreak linked to steroid injections.

The outbreak, centred on Tennessee, has already killed eight people and infected 105 in nine states.

The drug involved was originally produced in Massachusetts.

It is used as a painkiller, usually for conditions related to the back, and could have been injected in thousands of patients, authorities have said.
