A WOMAN who caused a disturbance onboard a holiday flight between Glasgow and Tenerife, has been banned from flying with Jet2 airline, a court has heard.

Joanna Felvus, 25, argued loudly with her male travelling companion during the flight on July 9, Paisley Sheriff Court was told.

She admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm to others by shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.

The court was told that Felvus, of Newmains, Lanarkshire, had to be warned twice about her conduct as she let rip and turned the air blue despite the fact that thee were young children seated nearby.

Cabin crew eventually separated the couple as the plane prepared to land in Tenerife.

Felvus was asked to hand her passport over to flight attendants and was subsequently advised she would not be allowed to fly back to Scotland with the same airline - and that she would not be welcome aboard any Jet2 flights in future.

She and her partner had to pay for a return flight with another airline "at significant cost," said defence agent Tony Callahan.

The court was told that when quizzed by police, Felvus, a local authority cleaner, told them: "I had too much to drink - that's the reason this happened."

Mr Callahan said that his client, a first offender, was deeply embarrassed by what had happened and regretted her conduct.

"This episode has had a very sobering effect on her," he added.

Imposing a £300 fine, Sheriff Robert Fife hit out: "Behaviour such as this is completely and utterly unacceptable. You are right to feel deeply embarrassed - no wonder you do."
