OLYMPIC champion Laura Trott is among the star-studded line-up set to compete as elite cycling event Revolution Series returns to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome later this month.

Fans will be in for a treat as she takes on local hero, Katie Archibald, from Milngavie at the thrilling racing spectacle in Glasgow on November 28.

Both women are reigning triple European champions with Katie, 21, winning the individual pursuit and elimination race in Switzerland last month, while Laura, 23, claimed victory in the omnium and scratch race.

They were also part of the gold medal-winning Great Britain women's team pursuit squad alongside Joanna Rowsell Shand, Elinor Barker and Ciara Horne.

Laura and Katie have already enjoyed several fierce tussles in the 2015/16 Revolution Series so far this season with this teeing up another epic battle.

Team Sky's Geraint Thomas, meanwhile, will make what is only his second return to track racing since winning Olympic gold at London 2012.

Also confirmed to compete is four-time world and reigning Olympic champion Ed Clancy.

This marks the fourth time that the Revolution Series has come to Glasgow since the velodrome opened in 2012.

The action will be split over two sessions – afternoon and evening – with racing getting under way from 1pm.

Tickets still remain for both but are expected to be snapped up fast over the coming days.

Previous years have seen six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy attend as a special guest.
