Police are investigating reports of gunshots outside a concert hall during a performance by an Irish republican folk band.
Loud bangs, believed to be a firearms discharge, were heard on the Gallowgate in Glasgow at around 9.50pm while The Wolfe Tones were performing at the Barrowland Ballroom.
Police Scotland said the popular city nightspot was busy with Saturday night patrons, but they have not received reports of any injuries.
Police were approached by members of the public who had heard the loud bangs at the junction of Gibson Street, right outside the concert venue.
The Wolfe Tones are named after an 18th century revolutionary regarded as the father of Irish republicanism, and are popular amongst Scotland's Irish diaspora and supporters of city football team Celtic.
Detective Inspector Gillian Patrick, from London Road police office, said today: "Inquiries are under way to establish the circumstances surrounding last night's events.
"Officers, including specialised search and forensic teams remain in the area to speak to local residents and businesses.
"There was a concert in the Barrowlands last night, and the Gallowgate was busy with revellers enjoying a Saturday night out.
"It is possible that other members of the public may have heard something just before 10pm. If you have any information that can assist, I ask that you contact officers at London Road on 101."
