WRITE a pantomime from scratch with no experience? Oh no, they didn't.

A group of friends have taken a break from their day jobs to develop tongue-in-cheek panto Clatty Bella, which they hope will raise £10,000 for the Beatson and Yorkhill.

The show will run for three nights and see the cast of entrepreneurs, lawyers, teachers and doctors step well outside their comfort zone.

Jeremy Hart is one of those behind the Glasgwegian take on Cinderella.

He said: "There are a dozen of us in total and we've been working on this for the past nine months, meeting once a week to rehearse.

"It's taken us very far out of our comfort zones but has been really great fun to do.

"There are some nerves but I'm sure that when the hall is full on each of the three performances that the atmosphere will be so great that the buzz the actors will feel and the high they will get will be amazing."

The group has been working on their production for the past nine months to be ready for opening night at Maryhill Community Central Hall on November 27 and 28.

Professional actress Fiona Wood takes the part of Clatty Bella with former Take the High Road actress Carol Hunter also appearing.

But the rest of the cast will be treading the boards for the first time.

And even the script was written by an amateur, new graduate Damian Mullen.

Money raised on the night will be split between the Beatson Cancer Charity and Yorkhill Children's Charity.

Jeremy added: "We chose the two charities because most people have been affected by cancer in some way and most of those taking part have children and know how important Yorkhill is.

"We'll be pleased with £7000 or £8000 but the people who are attending will be like us, from relatively affluent backgrounds, and so we're hoping that we can make it up to £10,000 for these two causes."
