A FORMER leader of Glasgow’s Catholics and the creator of the world-famous Kelpies formed an unlikely double act as they received honorary degrees.
Archbishop Mario Conti, left, the former Archbishop of Glasgow, and Andy Scott, the artist and sculptor behind the equine statues on display at the Helix in Falkirk, were given the Doctor of Letters each in a ceremony organised by Glasgow Caledonian University at the Royal Concert Hall.
Pat Nevin, now a football pundit, also received a Doctor of Letters, while Ian Brander, chief executive of the Howden Group, received an honorary doctorate in engineering.
