HUNDREDS of children created a conga line to help raise cash.
The aim of the St Andrew Conga at Hampden, was to raise money to challenge child poverty in their own community and school.
Every penny raised by the school children will go direct to the schools’ needs, as they know exactly who the children are who would benefit from support at this special time of the year.
Earlier this year, Glasgow the Caring City Charity and Cathcart Old Church in partnership spotted the chance of a major fundraising opportunity. The event is the first of four big St Andrew fundraisers.
BBC Glasgow will host a young people sports competition tomorrow at 11am, as well as a Multi Faith act of worship in Cathcart Old Church at the same time.
And on Monday at 7.30pm as part of the St Andrew Festival of Light which sees many Scottish landmarks being lit up in Blue and White, so too will Cathcart Old Church.
The sponsored events will allow schools the opportunity to have their own funds to use.
