A teenage boy is seriously ill in hospital after being hit by a car on a busy city bypass.
The 16-year-old pedestrian was hit by a blue Skoda Citigo travelling west on the A720 Edinburgh city bypass, near the Dreghorn junction, just before 5pm on Saturday.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he is in a serious condition.
Police Scotland are appealing for any witnesses to contact them. Road policing sergeant Andy Gibb said: "We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this, or who has any other information which can help with our inquiries, to come forward."
