DRIVERS faced traffic chaos outside the O2 Academy last night as around a dozen police officers arrived and led two men away in handcuffs.

A police van and at least two cars pulled up outside the venue around 11pm as hundreds of people streamed out following a performance by The Courteeners.

Police said two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested in connection on alleged breach of the peace charges.

Southbound lanes of Eglinton Street were blocked by police vehicles and traffic was delayed.

The men were released from police custody and are expected to appear at court at a later date.

The band are due to play a second Glasgow date at the same venue on Thursday, December 17.
