A MAN was rushed to hospital after a chip pan caught fire in his flat.
Fire fighters arrived at the flat in Knightswood's Harland Cottages last night around 11.50pm and found the man with burns on his hands.
They called an ambulance, and paramedics took him to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for extra treatment.
Although the fire had already been extinguished before crews arrived, the fire service has warned about the dangers of chip pans
Watch Manager Eddie Simpson, who was the incident commander, said: "Traditional chip pans are a particularly high risk.
"Our advice to householders is to use a modern electric fryer instead, as they have a safety switch that cuts them off and prevents them catching fire."
