Heavy rain has affected some of Saturday's Scottish sporting fixtures.

Celtic's Scottish Premiership match against Hamilton Academical has been called off following a morning pitch inspection.

The club put a notice up on their official website saying: "A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course."

Hearts' Scottish Premiership match against Inverness Caledonian Thistle has been postponed "due to extreme adverse weather conditions".

An inspection took place at Tynecastle this morning and the game was called off due to gale force winds.

The Edinburgh club said on their website: "Rearrangements will be announced in due course.

"Original tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled fixture, so please hold on to them."

Partick Thistle's Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell has also been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

An inspection took place at Firhill at 09:15am following heavy overnight rain in Glasgow.

"Please retain all tickets and a rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible," they said on their website.

In the Scottish Championship, all matches have been postponed with the exception of Alloa against Dumbarton.

In rugby, heavy overnight rain at Scotstoun Stadium means the Glasgow Warriors Pro12 match against Leinster has been called off.
