A PRANKSTER dressed as Santa was winched onto a statue by a cherry-picker in Glasgow today.
The man - in full Father Christmas attire - was lifted onto the Duke of Wellington statue shortly before noon.
It comes almost exactly a year after a man dressed as Santa was arrested for climbing the on the back of the horse.
Today police officers were quickly on the scene and the man came down from the statue, which is outside the city’s Gallery of Modern Art.
A police spokesman confirmed officers attended and the man was "spoken to accordingly".
Passers-by took to Twitter after spotting Father Christmas in the area.
