Biffy Clyro fans flocked to a Glasgow charity shop and cleared the rails in less than half an hour after the band donated a box of clothes.

The Scottish rockers posted on Twitter to let fans know that a crate of Converse shoes and stylish trousers had been donated to the Oxfam Music Shop on Byres Road.

Andrew McWhinnie, manager of the shop, said fans had travelled far and wide to get their hands on the secondhand clobber, and some even intended to divvy up the material for further afield fans to enjoy.

“It was magic to get the call,” he said. “We opened up at 10.30am and had people wrapped around the shop in an orderly queue. It was all really good natured.

“We had French, German and even American people turn up looking to buy some of the clothes and one of them told me they were going to cut up a pair of the trousers and send little patches out to members of the fan club back home.”

The shoes were originally priced at £12 and the trousers at £10 but Andrew soon had to raise the price due to demand.

Although he drew the line at charging any more than £30 for the items, many fans still donated more than the asking price and the charity raked in a total of £600 for the clothes.
