Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is to marry Sir Mick Jagger’s ex Jerry Hall.

Rupert, 84, and the 59-year-old model placed an advert in the Births, Marriages and Deaths section of the Times newspaper, which is owned by Mr Murdoch’s News Corporation.

The pair reportedly began their relationship in the summer of 2015 and got engaged at the weekend, during which they attended the Golden Globe awards ceremony.

The notice read: “Mr Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger, are delighted to announce their engagement.”

A spokesman for the Murdoch family told the paper: “They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future.”

Australian Rupert has wed three times before, while it will be US-born Jerry’s first official marriage, although she had a long-term relationship with Sir Mick.

The pair were first spotted together in public at the Rugby World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand in October.

Rupert was previously married to Wendi Deng, mother to two of his children, but they split in June 2013.

He reportedly paid out 1.7bn dollars (£1.08 billion) in a divorce settlement to his second wife Anna Murdoch, while his first wife was Patricia Booker.

Meanwhile, Jerry, one of four daughters, moved to Paris to pursue her modelling career aged just 16.

She then famously met The Rolling Stones’ frontman, and the couple wed in 1990 in Bali, but their marriage was later disputed since it was not properly conducted, and was subsequently shown to be invalid.

The pair had four children together, but parted after 23 years.
