An elderly man died after he was struck by a train at Bishopbriggs station.
The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the station and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident caused delays and disruption on services from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh via Falkirk and services to Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee and Alloa.
A spokesman for British Transport Scotland confirmed that around 4.30pm, a man, believed to be elderly, was struck and killed by a train at Bishopbriggs station.
