Virgin Trains has said all pregnant women will get a seat on its services.
Expectant mothers can obtain a special pass to show to staff if a train has standing room only.
If no seat can be made available in standard class, women will be given one in first class.
The scheme will operate on Virgin's West Coast Main Line services which run between London, North Wales, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Anita Brown, customer experience strategy manager at Virgin Trains, said: "We're always striving to make sure our customers have the most enjoyable journey possible.
"With our new mums-to-be pass, our pregnant customers can feel confident that we will get them a seat when they travel with us."
The passes can be obtained by taking a MAT B1 form and a passport photo to a Virgin Trains ticket office.
