GLASGOW students stepped out in bin liners and junk food wrappers as part of a fashion contest with a difference.
The national Junk Kouture challenge asks them to create catwalk-worthy styles from rubbish.
The best designs will be hand picked for prizes at a grand final in the city on Friday.
And hoping to take home an award is Ruth McPherson, 16, from Hutcheson's Grammar School in Pollokshields.
She showed off a dress made from recycled paper and bin liners at the Buchanan Galleries recently.
Also in the running is Trudi Logan, 12, from St Mungo's Academy in the east end pictured with her dress made from Burger King packaging called Evil Burger Queen.
The pupils also met Irish boyband sensation, HomeTown, who will be performing at the Junk Kouture Scotland grand final, taking place at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Friday.
Junk Kouture is a national contest which encourages young designers in secondary schools to create striking couture designs and works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin.
Junk Kouture aims to inspire these teenagers while at the same time educating them about the importance of recycling and reusing waste.
