Victoria Station has been evacuated after an 'unexploded World War II bomb' was discovered on a building site.

Thousands of passengers were ordered to leave Victoria's railway and tube stations during the morning rush hour after the discovery.

Metropolitan Police tweeted to confirm that officers were attending a building site following 'the discovery of what is believed to be a World War II ordinance'.

The stations reopened at around 10.15am after the incident was stood down.
