CYCLISTS on a 5,000-mile mission to spread the message of peace have been forced off the road due to injury.
Forty-eight-year-old Nadir Shah and his son Feruz Khan, 17, are cycling 5,000 miles across 13 countries spreading a message of peace.
They had planned to stay in Glasgow for a few days but Feruz suffered leg injuries after an accident in Birmingham and the two have been in the city for a few weeks.
They met Lord Provost Sadie Docherty yesterday in the city chambers before heading south next week.
Father and son left their Afghanistan home six months ago and are travelling to New York to meet UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon. Mr Shah, a dentist and father of seven, has been talking to politicians and activists since arriving in Glasgow last month.
