Serial killer Peter Tobin is in hospital after collapsing at the Edinburgh prison where he is serving three life sentences.

The 69-year-old, who murdered three young women, was rushed to A&E in an ambulance yesterday.

Tobin was jailed for the rape and murder of Angelika Kluk, 23, in Glasgow in 2006.

A subsequent search of his home in Margate, Kent, uncovered the remains of two other women.

Tobin was convicted of the murder of Vicky Hamilton, 15, in December 2008 and of the murder of Dinah McNicol, 18, in December 2009, resulting in a whole life order.

Vicky Hamilton’s father Michael Hamilton told the Scottish Sun he is “not sorry” that Tobin is unwell.

“So long as I am on this Earth longer than him I will be happy,” he said. “The best thing that he can do is to stop breathing. I just want him dead.

“I am not sorry that he is in the hospital. He’s an evil man.”

A prison officer found Tobin slumped in his cell around midday yesterday, according to reports.

An ambulance rushed him to the capital’s Royal Infirmary and he was seen being wheeled into A&E while handcuffed to a prison officer. His condition is not known.

A spokesman for the Scottish Prison Service said: “We can confirm that a 69-year-old prisoner from HMP Edinburgh was taken to hospital yesterday.”
