REVIVE MS Support, a charity that provides vital therapy, advice and support to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the heart of communities across the West of Scotland, is hosting an Open Day on Monday February 15 at its Maryhill premises.

The Open Day will allow the charity to welcome clients, carers and other family members to learn about its future plans and relocation to Govan.

Iain Morrison, chief executive of Revive MS Support, said: “Our Open Days are a good way for people to come along and have a good look around where there are no clients in for appointments to see what we do and to get a chance to talk to our staff members. Everyone is welcome, and no appointments need to be made in advance; just turn up on the day.”

Jane Butler, carer and Revive volunteer, said: “I first visited Revive with my husband Paul, who has MS, on an Open Day and we subsequently discovered that Revive does not just care for MS sufferers, but for their carers too. Revive offers a tremendous support network and I would recommend it to anyone with MS and anyone who cares for someone with MS.”

Revive MS Support Open Day will take place from 10am to 3.30pm at Unit 15-16, Chapel Street Estate, Maryhill.

Revive recently decided that in order to better serve the needs of its clients, and to be there for potential clients, it needed more space to grow and develop.

After an extensive search, the charity found Moorpark Court in Govan, a modern building within which it can devise a purpose-led layout and with ample space for development of services for the future.

It is now just £150,000 short of reaching its target for the capital side of the campaign, which will enable it to purchase the property and fit it out.

The charity has a total fundraising target of £1.5 million, which will fund staff and running costs and developing the services to clients post-relocation.

Revive MS Support hopes to have reached its funding target by March with a view to moving into its new premises in Govan in the autumn. Donors include RS MacDonald Trust, which has pledged £30,000 and the Robertson Trust, which has donated 10% of the capital funding.
