Locals in Andy Murray's home town of Dunblane have been celebrating the news of the birth of his daughter.

Some of the shops on the High Street decked out their window displays with pink balloons and banners to mark the occasion.

The golden post box in the centre of the town - which honours Murray's Olympic tennis achievements - drew more visitors than normal as people stopped to get a photo taken beside it covered in baby pink bows.

Bennetts the butchers produced specially-made Miss Murray Sausages after hearing of the little girl's arrival.

Butcher Connor Wilson said: "When the news broke out this morning about Andy and Kim having a wee baby girl, we made the regular sausage we do when Andy is playing at Wimbledon which is strawberries and chillies, but what we did was put a wee bit of food colouring in to make them a bit pinker.

"I think they will prove popular - the Wimbledon ones always go down well.

"We are used to celebrating tennis here but this is a little bit different."

Further down the street, the Sue Ryder Care charity shop put on a baby-themed window display as staff offered their congratulations to the couple.

Shop volunteer Krystyna Morrison, from Dunblane, said: "I got the phone call at nine o'clock this morning to come down to the shop because Kim had had a wee girl but the display has been in the planning for two weeks at least.

"We've had everything prepared - we even had it ready with blue banners if it was going to be a boy.

"We like to do something for Andy because it cheers everyone up and you always get customers coming in commenting on the window. It brings people to the town, which is a good thing.

"We've all been really delighted in here with the news and we will be looking forward to finding out what the baby's name is."
