FIREFIGHTERS battled to rescue a woman trapped in her car following a road smash.
Crew members were forced to remove the roof of the vehicle after it crashed with another car in South Lanarkshire on Monday.
The two vehicle collision happened on the northbound A702 towards Biggar around 4.55pm.
A second woman, who had exited the other car before crews reached the scene, was also taken to hospital after being given oxygen by firefighters.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews from Biggar and Lanark worked to make the scene safe before leaving around 6.30pm.
