POLICE are diverting traffic after a lorry collided with a railway crossing barrier.
The accident happened at the main road in Gatehead, near Kilmarnock, around 3.15pm today.
Network Rail engineers are on site working to fix the barrier, which is understood to be completely broken following the collision.
Traffic is queuing both ways on the A759 in East Ayrshire, and drivers have been warned of delays.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We got a report of a lorry striking the crossing and the barrier has come off.
"The barrier is completely broken and network rail engineers are on scene trying to fix this.
"Trains are on a caution and there is a police presence in the area for safety reasons.
"There are no reports of any injuries."
