A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital after being knocked down by a car.

The woman, in her late 70s, was hit by the car on Bath Street in the city centre around 3.15pm today.

She injured her leg during the accident and has been taken to the Royal Infirmary in a stable condition.

Police are still at the scene.

An ambulance spokesman said: "We received an emergency call shortly after 3pm this afternoon to attend bath street in Glasgow, after reports of a lady in her late 70s being knocked down by a car.

"The patient has been conveyed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in a stable condition, with a leg injury."

A Police spokeswoman said: "Around 3.15pm we received a report of a woman who has been struck by a car in Bath Street

"We are on the scene."
