A beauty salon in Rutherglen has blown away customers with their generosity by offering a day of free facials and massages for those suffering from cancer.
Number One Nails publicised their generous idea on their facebook page, writing: “We have decided to run a free clinic in the salon for patients that are going through cancer treatment.
“This is a difficult time for anyone so we will be offering free facials and massages, something to help ease the pain. You don't have to be a customer of the shop.
“So if you know anyone who would benefit from this ask them to contact us on Facebook or call the shop.”
The woman behind the idea, beautician Laura Porter, said “I did some charity work with the homeless on Christmas Day. I decided from then I was going to do some more things throughout the year helping other people.
"There is no real reason behind it other than I have a skill and premises to work from and it would be nice to provide something to people who may not have the funds to pay for these treatments and also give them a little bit of relax time. I have had a couple of people comment with people they may know. So I just hope that other people get in touch.”
Customers of the salon loved the idea and the facebook post received hundreds of likes shares. Comments are flooding in to thank Ms Porter for the offer. One comment read “Absolutely lovely of you, such a wonderful gesture for anyone going through a life changing situation” and another read “Amazing, such a kind and thoughtful thing to do”.
