A new restaurant will open in the vacant St Vincent Street Post Office building in Glasgow.
Miller & Carter has announced it will open a new steakhouse on Friday, March 4 on the street which has been populated with restaurants including Five Guys and Handmade Burger Company in the last few years.
The group will create 70 new jobs with the opening and it is the second restaurant Miller & Carter have opened in Scotland - the first was in Edinburgh.
The old Post Office building is under a five- month refurbishment project and was formerly the National Commercial Bank.
The Post Office moved to West Nile Street, the former site of Crocket's Ironmonger, replacing the St Vincent Street site which has been open since the early 90s.
The new steakhouse will will seat up to 200 guests. It will also include a private dining room, fully kitted out for meetings or exclusive dinners.
Miller & Carter say they serve the finest 30 day aged scotch beef, using both wet and dry ageing techniques to provide the optimum succulence, tenderness and flavour. Their menu has 12 steak cuts to choose from including a 30oz longbone Tomahawk, fillet-on-the-bone, and award-winning sirloin steak.
The team have been trained at Miller & Carter’s ‘Steak School’ ensuring that they are fully fledged steak geeks. Miller & Carter’s premium graded Scotch beef is reared on carefully selected, sustainable Scottish farms, so whichever your favourite cut, you can trace every forkful back to the field.
Miller & Carter Glasgow will be the very first of the brand to feature the ‘Steak Table’ experience, where up to 10 guests can enjoy an immersive, educational dining package. Guests will learn more about the different types of steak; Miller & Carter’s field to fork story, and how to cook the perfect steak as well as enjoying an opportunity to sample the steaks with perfectly matched wines.
