An East End brewery is giving one lucky couple the chance to get married on their premises - but there is a catch.

Tennent's Lager's Wellpark Brewery are looking for ladies only who want to pop the question this leap year - and they will lend one lucky couple their premises for a wedding.

Glasgow Times:

With 2016 being a leap year, traditionally ladies across Scotland get their only chance in four years to pop the question to their partners.

Now, Tennent’s Lager is lending them a helping hand by offering to broadcast proposals to lager-loving other halves on Wellpark Brewery’s ‘big telly’ on Glasgow’s busy Duke Street.

This unique service is designed to promote the launch of Tennent’s new Valentine’s themed pack, with one lucky couple winning the chance to get married at Wellpark and live hoppily ever after.

Glasgow Times:

The Valentine’s 12x300ml bottle packs are available now exclusively in Tesco stores across Scotland and feature humorous Scottish declarations of love like: “Pure Stunner” and “Ya Big Darlin’” on the bottle labels. Everyone who submits a video will receive a voucher for a discounted pack in participating stores.

Glasgow Times:

Hopeful brides-to-be can submit videos via social media or via e-mail to yabigdarlin@tennents.com. Those proposals that make the cut will have their clip beamed on the big screen on February 29 for all of Glasgow to see.

A Tennent’s Lager spokesman said: “We’ve been looking for ways to spread as much love as possible since we launched our new Valentine’s-inspired pack, and what better way than to help couples pop the question?

"We all know ladies can propose whenever they want, but a leap year is traditionally when women are supposed to ask their partners.

"We’ve cleared the schedule on the big screen for the day so if you know anyone who’s looking to propose in an unforgettable way, get them to send in a video."

Glasgow Times:

The spokesman added: “We’re sure there must be someone out there with a partner whose dream it is to get married at Scotland’s finest brewery and if their other half loves them enough to send in a video that tugs at our heart strings, we’ll make it happen for them.

"If they’re already hitched they can always pop into Tesco and pick up a limited-edition Valentines pack to give them instead of course.”
