A mother who was killed in a car crash that injured her three sons has been named locally.
Kirsty Parker, 34, from Denholm, died at the scene of the accident on the A698 near the Scottish Borders village on Thursday.
She was driving a Vauxhall Zafira that collided with a Peugeot 207 at around 4.15pm.
Her three sons aged 12, nine and 18 months were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The driver of the other car, a 26-year-old man, was also taken for treatment.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The 34-year-old female driver of the Vauxhall Zafira was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Three boys aged 12 years old, nine years old and 18 months old were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
"The 26-year-old male driver of the Peugeot was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries."
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
