Detectives have re-visited a nightclub one week on from 21-year-old man's death there.

Robert Flemming is believed to have been involved in an altercation before his death outside Baker's nightclub in Kilmarnock on Sunday, February 7.

Police say they had a good response from the public on returning to the scene.

Officers were on John Finnie Street between the hours of 11pm and 2am hours on Sunday, February 14, and spoke with over 50 people who were on nights out and driving past in a bid to glean more information about the altercation which occurred before Robert’s death and to speak to any potential witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Allan Burton from Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team said: “Officers spoke with over 50 people in an effort to identify potential witnesses

"Our enquiries had established that Robert was involved in an altercation outside Baker’s nightclub in John Finnie Street between the hours of 12.30am and 1am on Sunday, February 7.

“We are thankful to those members of the public who took the time to speak with officers to help us achieve the full picture of the circumstances surrounding his death.

“It is possible that as we follow up on the information provided to us by members of the public, officers will determine new lines of enquiry which will be of assistance in our investigation.

“We will continue to progress all lines of enquiry and we continue to seek the assistance of the public.
