Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears have named their daughter Sophia Olivia, his agent has confirmed.

The couple's daughter was born on Sunday, February 7, weighing 8lbs 10oz. She is believed to be at home with her parents in Surrey.

Speculation about the Dunblane tennis star's daughter name began after her birth was announced, with Ladbrokes revealing that Freya was the odds-on favourite.

Andy's grandmother Shirley Erskine revealed that she found out about the birth via text and said the family had not known what sex the baby was going to be.

She said: "Andy and Kim said from the outset that they didn't want to know, so I'm assuming that they didn't know and of course none of us knew, so it was nice to get a little surprise like that.

"Andy had sent a text round all the family - one of these multimedia type texts - and then I got a text from him saying something about 'she's doing well' and I thought 'oh something's happened'."

Andy and Kim married in the former Wimbledon Champion's home town of Dunblane in April last year. The couple have been together for nine years.
