A VICIOUS thug exploded with rage and glassed a reveller in a brutal pub attack.

He lost his rag and smashed the tumbler into the 32-year-old's face after a "minor argument" broke out between the suspect and the victim's niece.

Police today revealed the woman would be left with scarring on her nose after the horror attack at a city centre bar.

The appalling attack, which happened at around 1am on Sunday, is understood to have been captured on St Vincent's Bar's CCTV.

The victim was rushed by ambulance from the venue in St Vincent Street, Glasgow, to hospital where she received treatment for facial injuries.

Detective Constable Vickki Reid, who is leading the investigation, urged anyone witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, of slim build with brown hair and was wearing a white shirt.

At the time of the attack, he was with two young women, who police are also keen to trace.

One is described as having long fair hair and was wearing a light blue vest top and black skirt.

The other woman has long dark hair and was wearing a black coat with red top or dress underneath.

DC Reid said: "This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack and we are carrying out extensive inquiries to trace the male responsible.

"I would ask that anyone with any information about this incident, in particular the identity of the male responsible and the females in his company, to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
