Wet Wet Wet will pick a fan to come on stage with them for the first time in the band's touring industry at their SSE Hydro gig in Glasgow on Saturday.

The Clydebank quartet fronted by singer Marti Pellow will bring The Big Picture tour to the venue - and one lucky fan will be able to get the ultimate selfie during their performance against the backdrop of a sold out The SSE Hydro.

Marti Pellow said: ‘We are so looking forward to returning to our hometown of Glasgow and play at The SSE Hydro again, it’s going to be a really special gig with a number of surprises in store including the chance for one fan to come and get their picture taken onstage with us."

Fans wishing they were lucky will need to download the free SSE Presents Wet Wet Wet app from Apple App Store or the Google Play Store to be in with a chance of winning this once in a lifetime experience.  Fans who have downloaded the app will be sent a special notification when they enter the venue on Saturday night and asked to input their details to potentially be surprised and delighted at their seat during the show.

Those fans who are not selected to go on stage will still have the opportunity to be part of the show. Audience members who have downloaded the specially created SSE Presents App will see their phone light up in brilliant colours to create a stunning visual display in The SSE Hydro arena bowl during one of Wet Wet Wet’s sweet little mysterious songs, for a UK live music first.

Drummer Tommy Cunningham said: “We put a lot of work into our show and make sure that everything sounds and looks perfect. We’ve partnered with SSE to do something different at the Hydro where the audience can help us light up the whole venue taking the meaning of The Big Picture tour one step further!”

Through the app fans will also receive access to exclusive discounts on band merchandise and food and drink as well as content such as set lists, band images and screensavers sent to their phone throughout the evening. All they have to do is download the app ahead of the gig and open the app when they reach The SSE Hydro to enable them to receive notifications and prizes.

Colin Banks, Head of Sponsorship at SSE, said: ‘All of us here at SSE are committed to doing more for our customers and that extends to the amazing audiences that attend The SSE Hydro.

"We want to give them the best possible entertainment experiences and through working with the band on our SSE presents app we will be able to provide unique and unforgettable ones for do that on a very special night for thousands of Scottish music fans."
