US superstar Mariah Carey sent her crew out for an "emergency" 3am trip to Asda - in Govan ahead of her SSE Hydro show.

The singer opens her The Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour in the city tonight but she flew into Glasgow on Sunday ahead of her first UK date - and it seems her team deemed the South Side supermarket suitable enough for her diva demands.

The sun reports that Mariah's crew went to the store to purchase items for her twins Monroe and Moroccan after she spent Sunday evening rehearsing into the early hours of the morning

She ordered her team out with a shopping list of goodies to keep the tots entertained, and they headed to Asda’s 24-hour Govan branch and bought 20 DVDs, giant packs of Oreo biscuits, bottles of Coca-Cola — plus Papa John’s pizzas for her dancers.

Glasgow Times:

The Hero star is staying in the penthouse suit at the city's five star Blythswood Square hotel.

A source told The Sun said: “Mariah didn’t land in Glasgow until 10pm and went straight to the arena to get everything ready for tonight.

“She told her entourage to make sure the children — who were being cared for by a nanny while she did her thing on stage — had a huge stack of DVDs they could choose from. She specially told them to stock up on the most recent Disney flicks, including the Minions films, and warned no movies with violence.

“The kids headed back to the hotel at 4am, before Mariah herself rocked up an hour later.

“She slept pretty much all day yesterday and barely left her suite.”
