LEWIS MACLEOD may have played his last game for Brentford this season – after just eight minutes of action for the Championship club.
The former Rangers midfielder has been beset by a series of injuries since he made the switch to Griffin Park 18 months ago.
Macleod made a substitute appearance against Brighton in February but has suffered another knee injury and faces a race against time to play a part in the closing weeks of the campaign.
The 21-year-old is receiving more treatment in a bid to get back to fitness and Bees boss Dean Smith said: “Lewis is having another course of injections into the knee. The original ones haven't aided him as we hoped.
“I think he's having more injections into there now. I don't know if he's out for the rest of the season.
“We've got a six week, nine game season. He's not trained since the Brighton game.
“It's unfortunate for the lad as he'd got on the pitch and the fans finally saw him.”
