A GLASGOW care home has been given less than a month to make improvments or risk closure.
The Care Inspectorate has served a formal improvement notice on Drumpellier Lodge care home in Bargeddie.
Inspectors said owners Clancare Ltd must show they have sufficient levels of trained and skilled staff to meet residents' needs by April 30.
Otherwise, the 39-room facility faces being taken off the care home register.
The notice states: "Unless there is a significant improvement in provision of the service, it intends to make a proposal to cancel your registration."
The firm was told it must demonstrate that it is making “proper provision for the health, welfare and safety of service users.”
It was criticised for failing to provide "meaningful activities" for residents and told to improve access to outdoor space and events.
The noticestates: "The care home must also review staffing levels to take into account service users’ dependency levels; adhere to the staffing schedule for the service and increase numbers where required to meet the care needs of service users."
In 2014, the home was told to make major improvements after a snap inspection.
The home was given a score of two (weak) for its quality of care and support; its quality of management and leadership and its quality of staffing.
Inspectors found that 10 requirements for improvement, made at a previous inspection, were not met.
A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: “We have clearly set out the areas which require swift improvement at Drumpellier Lodge so that the care provided to residents reaches a standard that they have a right to expect.
"We will inspect this service again soon to check on progress and to ensure that improvements have been made. If we are not satisfied that sufficient progress is being made quickly, we will not hesitate to take further action.
“Everyone in Scotland has the right to safe, compassionate care which meets their needs and respects their rights.
