POLICE have been quizzing people at the scene of a cash in transit robbery in Helensburgh, one week on.

Detectives were at the scene, in West Princes Street, between 11pm and 2am to reconstruct the events leading up to the robbery at the Santander bank.

They revealed high performance cars may have used to help the suspects flee the scene.

G4S employees were approached by two men, armed with weapons, who threatened them and made off with a cash box, containing a five figure sum at 12.30am last Wednesday.

The suspects are described as being of medium height, thin build and were wearing blue overalls and masks at the time of the robbery.

Detectives have been carrying out a number of inquiries in the local area, including reviewing CCTV.

DI Alistair Davidson, of Argyll and West Dunbartonshire CID, said: “We understand that high performance vehicles may have been used by the suspects to escape from the area.

“You may have heard the sound of engines revving in and around West Princes Street.
