1)      Celtic 3-0 Rangers SPL 29th April 2012- Celtic Park

This would be the final Old Firm match for 3 years, and it was a walk in the park for Celtic. A Charlie Mulgrew header and a Kris Commons chip effectively killed the game before half time. Gary Hooper added the cherry on top in the second half as the Champions ran out 3-0 winners.

2)      Rangers 3-2 Celtic SPL 25th March 2012- Ibrox

The first Old Firm match since Rangers entered administration, and Ally McCoist’s men showed there was life in the old dog yet. Celtic arrived at Ibrox knowing a win would seal the title, but The Gers had other ideas.  Sone Aluko, Andy Little and Lee Wallace grabbed the goals that sent the home crowd into ecstasy, whilst Carlos Bocanegra was shown a red card.  Cha Du Ri and Victor Wanyama saw red for Celtic, before Scott Brown and Thomas Rogne made the scoreline more respectable late on. Neil Lennon watched the 2nd half from the stand after being sent off at half time.

3)       Celtic 1-0 Rangers Scottish Cup 5th round replay 2nd March 2011- Celtic Park

Another fiery encounter, on and off the pitch. Rangers finished with 9 men after Bougherra and Whittaker saw red, but the big clash was on the touchline at the final whistle. Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist had to be held apart after a heated exchange. What did Ally whisper into Neil’s ear? We await the autobiographies. In the midst of that, Mark Wilson was the unlikely hero as he scored the only goal of the match to send Celtic through. The Hoops went on to beat Motherwell 3-0 in the final.

A pulsating Scottish cup tie at Ibrox which saw both sides finish with 10 men. Jamie Ness scored a curling effort just 3 minutes in, before Kris Commons equalised. Fraser Forster walked after conceding a penalty, which was converted by Steven Whittaker. Celtic bounced back again though with a Scott Brown strike from outside the area. Steven Naismith was shown a second yellow for diving, but it ended all square meaning a replay in Glasgow’s east end.

5)      Rangers 1-0 Celtic SPL 9th May 2009- Ibrox

Rangers grabbed a crucial win to go 2 points ahead in the title race, with just 3 games to go. The main man was Steven Davis. The Northern Irishman slid the ball home from inside the 6 yard box in the first half. He then denied Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink by clearing off the line when the Dutchman’s header looked goal bound. Rangers went on to lift the trophy on the final day with a 3-0 win at Tannadice.

6)      Celtic 3-2 Rangers  SPL 27th April 2008- Celtic Park

The second Old Firm derby in a fortnight, and Celtic again came out on top. This win put Gordon Strachan’s men 5 points clear, but Rangers had 3 games in hand, and a UEFA Cup semi final 2nd leg against Fiorentina to worry about. Scott McDonald gave The Hoops the lead, before two headers from David Weir and Daniel Cousin put The Gers in front. McDonald again equalised before Barry Robson scored the late winner from the spot. The visitors finished with 10 men after Steven Whittaker’s sending off. Celtic would end the season as Champions, with Rangers losing to Zenit in the Uefa Cup final.

7)      Celtic 2-1 Rangers  SPL 16th April 2008- Celtic Park

The first of 2 Old Firm matches in as many weeks at Parkhead. Nakamura scored a swerving drive from way out to give Celtic the lead. Nacho Novo’s run and shot across the goal drew things level. It was Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink who was the hero for the home side though, as he crashed home an injury time header. Celtic needed to go on a winning run to snatch the title from Rangers, who themselves had one eye on the UEFA cup, and that’s exactly what they did.

9)      Celtic 0-1 Rangers SPL 11th March 2007- Celtic Park

A smash and grab win for “new” Rangers boss Walter Smith. Smith had returned from National Service to mop up the Paul Le Guen mess in Govan. Ugo Ehiogu scored an overhead kick in the second half which proved to be the only goal. Celtic piled on the pressure, but they couldn’t find a way back into the match. They took comfort in the fact they were still miles ahead at the top of the table, and won the league at a canter.

10)   Celtic 2-0 SPL 23rd September 2006- Celtic Park

Paul Le Guen took his side to Parkhead once during his tenure, and predictably it ended in defeat. The Frenchman was brought to Ibrox with much fanfair, but he was soon shipped out with Rangers lightyears behind Celtic in the league. Thomas Gravesen headed in Allan McGregor’s parry to give Gordon Strachan’s men the lead, and Kenny Miller rounded off the win to put The Hoops 7 points clear from their Glasgow rivals.
