An Airdrie cabbie was on hand to save a young boy from potential violence as he walked home from a train station on Tuesday night.
A driver for Airdrie Taxi's saw the young boy being hassled by two others as he walked home. He then apparently swerved across the road, averting a possible attack and ensuring the boys saftey by returning to offer him a lift home.
The boy's mum, Lynn Black Bell, paid tribute to the courage and decency of the driver who stepped in and offered her son safe passage home on her Facebook page.
Mrs Bell said in her post: "He is my actual Hero!! He never even took the fare..Please pass this on so he knows how much we appreciate his actions."
In response to the post others heaped praise on the hero driver, writing: "Glad your son's okay and well done taxi driver!"
"He is a hero! Well done! We need more people like this in the world!"
