A shocked biker records the moment a road rage driver almost mowed down motorcyclists on a busy road.

Footage shows a driver narrowly missing a group of bikers as they took part in an annual run through East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.

In the video, motorcyclists were forced to scatter when a driver in a black Peugeot drove drove through the group on the town's Queensway road.

The car is seen speeding up behind the group of bikers before swerving between them.

The car appeared to narrowly miss one biker while others had to stop as the motorist drove erratically between lanes on the roundabout.

About 100 bikes were taking part in the run organised by Fool-On Motorcycle Club to celebrate the start of the warmer weather and motorcycle season.

Biker Fraser Miller, 37, caught the incident on GoPro cameras attached to his bike on April 3.

Fraser slammed the "aggressive" and "inconsiderate" driver in the video for ruining what is usually a visual spectacle for passers-by and other motorists.

He said: "Naturally with the number of motorbikes involved we seek to keep safety as an upmost priority, and we of course seek to keep the bikes together as a group to minimise any impact on traffic flows.

"This person's inconsiderate driving resulted in a number of motorcyclists having to take precautionary steps to get out of the way of the driver.

"There was definitely a degree of intent on the car driver's behalf to intimate the bikers with his aggressive approach to driving.

"He put his car into a position on a number of occasions where his close proximity to the bikes could have resulted in a collision and serious injury.

"Within the group at the time, there were a number of less experienced riders who felt intimidated by the driver's actions."

On exiting the roundabout the erratic driver can be seen driving between two exit lanes and moving his car within inches of the bike that he had just overtook.

Fraser, a land and planning manager, said this driver's behaviour was rare as motorists are normally accepting of the annual run.

He said: "We as a club understand that in some instances a delay in traffic can result in some drivers becoming frustrated.

"Most though behave like adults and accept that a short delay to their day will have little impact.

"Unfortunately the same cannot be said for this individual who appeared to display a total disregard for the safety of others and failed to understand the vulnerability of motorcyclists as road users.

"Every rider is someone's husband, wife, son, daughter, father or mother or indeed a friend.

"In this instance fortunately an incident did not occur, however an ill made decision by one individual could have had completely different consequences."

And Fraser has urged motorists to be careful on the roads around bikers.

He said: "I feel that it needs to be understood by all road users that motorcycles are vulnerable on the road and do not benefit from crash protection zones around their vehicles.

"Driving dangerously close to a motorbike can in itself result in the rider panicking."

Fraser's video footage has now been submitted to police.

Police have appealed for witnesses of the incident to contact them on 101.
