Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed that two other fan favourites will make a welcome return to the wizarding world in her new stage play.

Ms Rowling confirmed that Ginny Weasley and Draco Malfoy will both appear in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, tweeting a picture of wand designs for the new show.

The image included the caption: "Exciting morning at rehearsals for Cursed Child. What do you think of our wand designs? #HarryPotterPlay."

Ginny married to Harry in the eighth book in JK Rowling's hugely successful series, The Deadly Hallows.

Eagle-eyed fans will also spot that Ginny's wand is made from the same wood as Voldemort's.

The new two-part play by Jack Thorne premieres at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on June 7 2016.

The play, which is based on a new and original story by JK Rowling will follow the trials of Harry, who works for the Ministry of Magic, his wife and three children 19 years after The Deathly Hallows.
