A former McGill’s bus driver filmed himself making fun of a passenger as he drove through Glasgow.

Leon Morrow posted a video on website Facebook of a conversation with a woman in which he appears to mock her.

At one point the bus driver, who started working for McGill’s in July 2015, according to his Facebook page, takes a hand off the wheel to adjust the camera so that it showed the interaction.

During the footage the bus can be seen travelling at speed in a residential area.

Writing on Facebook Mr Morrow said: “Trust me troops I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for months to show yees! Enjoy it.”

He also posted another video of his grinning face as he sat behind the wheel, which has been altered with a filter to make him look like comic book villain The Joker.

Mr Morrow - who has a tattoo of the Oscar Wilde quote: “Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future” on his forearm – was dragged before McGill’s bosses when customers complained.

A source at the company said: “When we became aware he was hauled in and suspended from his route.

“He was obviously driving the bus when the video was shot and talking to a passenger to encourage dialogue for entertainment purposes. It was completely unacceptable, on so many levels.”

He later removed the videos from his Facebook page saying: “Sorry everyone the video has to come down…people phoning my work and complaining.”

Responding to a friend he added: “Done it for a laugh mate…work phoned me to take it down said customer services were at the work. Loads of people phoning up and complaining. Tatties. Can't have a laugh bro.”

It is understood Mr Morrow, from Paisley, has since resigned from his job with McGill’s.

He subsequently set up a crowdfunding website asking for cash donations titled ‘Help a now jobless brother out - by Leon Morrow’.

On the site he appears to defend his decision to record the footage, stating: “I posted a very harmless video on Facebook of a sweet old lady who gets on my bus and she responded perfectly with me.

“The video soon got thousands of shares and thousands of views. But then my work caught fire of what was going on and I was asked to resign leaving me helpless as a slug in salt hahaha.”

He has received eight donations totalling just £50 since it was set up with one donor stating: “Video is worth at least a fiver. Good luck.”

On Wednesday the former bus driver wrote a message to his backers, stating: “Thanks for the support people. Much appreciate it haha.”

Mr Morrow has also tried to justify his behaviour on Facebook, writing: “I was causing no harm whatsoever to anyone. I was merely holding my phone in my hand that was all.”

One McGill’s customer, who asked not to be named, said: “He’s driving and videoing which is against law.

“Not only that, he’s making fun of a vulnerable person. Apparently he’s been waiting ages to do this so this was a set up.”

A spokeswoman for McGill’s said: “Leon Morrow is no longer employed by McGill’s.”

Leon Morrow declined to comment.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Should anyone wish to make a complaint they can do so by calling 101.”
