A MAN shouted racist abuse at passengers in a bus travelling from Glasgow city centre. 

The incident happened on Friday, April 22 at around 9.15pm on the bus which was travelling to the South Side. 

The man boarded the number 4A First Bus in Renfield Street where he then started shouting racist and offensive remarks to people who were on the bus.

Although he was asked to stop by one of the passengers, his offensive behaviour continued until he got off the bus at Eglinton Toll in the Gorbals.

Sergeant Stevie Scott, Baird Street Police Office, said: “This man’s behaviour on the bus was totally unacceptable and he must be traced.

"Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in an effort to gather more information on the man responsible.

“I would also like to thank the passenger who contacted police and reported this matter, indicating clearly that such offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.

"I would urge any other witnesses to this incident or anyone with information that will assist this police investigation to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”

The man responsible is described as white and he was around 32 to 39 years of age.

He was 6ft 2 ins, he had blond hair and a distinctive pointed nose. He was wearing a v-neck jumper, black trousers.
