A DOTING dad is to cycle 80 miles to raise funds for the hospital which saved his daughter's life.
Paul Bunton's one-year-old Lily was born with a serious heart defect, Coarctation of the Aorta, a narrowing of one of the side branches of the aorta which prevents blood supply to the lower half of the body.
Surgeons performed open heart surgery on Lily when she was days old at the former Yorkhill hospital and a month ago she had further surgery at the new children's hospital.
The surgery was a success and now Paul is taking part in a fundraising event for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity to say thank you to the staff who cared for his baby girl.
Paul will cycle 80 miles from Glasgow to Glen Douglas and back on Sunday.
Participants can choose either a 40mile of 80mile route.
